Our staff, teachers & educators

Led by a proactive Management Team with decades of experience in education and educational leadership, our highly qualified and dedicated educators and teachers are guided every day by the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Framework, the Early Childhood Australia’s Code of Ethics and their years of professional practice in an industry which they are both passionate about and committed to.

Our professional judgments are central to facilitating each child’s individual learning. We critically reflect on our experiences, our beliefs and values and a range of current perspectives and theories about early childhood on a regular basis to improve and adjust our practices to best suit the time, place and context of learning and to also create a confidence in what we do and an understanding for why we do it.

Quality experiences in built and natural environments are achieved by our educators intentionally planning and preparing both indoor and outdoor play spaces that are engaging, flexible, predictable, and include an ideal balance of active and quiet areas for peaceful rest or uninterrupted play. We actively encourage and model positive relationships and communication, and reflect responsiveness to each child’s emerging interests, needs and strengths.

We demonstrate care for the environment by embedding sustainability into our daily practices to help children to become socially responsible, show respect for their environment and develop an understanding of the interdependence of living things. Most valued are the relationships that the children, families and educators develop with the various much-loved animals at our centre, establishing an early appreciation, care and connectedness to the world around them.

Our centre has created a highly collaborative work environment that values, affirms and supports our staff’s motivation, commitment and ongoing learning, and encourages and facilitates opportunities for individual professional development.

We value our amazing team of educators and teachers who don’t hesitate to ask questions, network with other teaching professionals and support organisations, share ideas, provoke discussion on early childhood issues, and actively seek to contribute to others’ and their own ongoing learning and inquiry. This allows for a deep understanding and appreciation of children’s learning and development and supports our centre to engage in a constant, ongoing cycle of review, reflection, innovation and improvement.

We strongly believe in providing continuity of care for children, including the provision of familiar, permanent educators who are consistent in their approach to children’s education and care and who are afforded the space and time to build and maintain strong relationships with families.

Our teachers, educators and Management team tirelessly strive to earn the respect of families, children, the local community and our fellow child care and education professionals through empowering all to be active participants and decision makers in our centre.

At Little Learners, we pride ourselves on our high level of commitment, dedication, community engagement and educational expertise… as well as the exceptional reputation we have garnered from decades of providing the very best of care and education for Dubbo’s ‘little learners’.
